Why

Recently, I'm start interested in acient Chinese Fortune Teller methods, including Bazi(八字), Zi Wei Dou Shu(紫微斗数) etc.

Liu Ren, more specifically Xiao Liu Ren, is one of very basic way to predic the good & bad luck based on current time. Given the most hard part of this process is to find out the current time in Chinese lunar calendar, I write this application to do that for me so I don't have to worry about the mapping and calculations.

How it works.

The main logic is based on this video. So general steps are:

  1. Find out the current lunar time with Month, Day & Hour. For example, current time is (05/05:07 (Chinese Lunar time only have 12 hours))

  2. Find out the mapping between the finger pulp with the naming in this pic

  3. Start from the second plup in the index finger (botton left with mark 1). Then going clock wise with the month number (mark 1 count as 1, mark 2 count as 2 etc...). In our example, it would be 05, and we will end at mark 5 in the pic (second pulp in the ring finger).

  4. Start from what we left at 3), we count month number (mark 5 count as 1, etc). In our example, we will end at mark 3 (first pulp in middle finger).

  5. Similar to the hour number. In our example, it will end at mark 3 again.

  6. In the pic above, we will see the mark 3 map to the name "Su Xi (速喜)". And then we can search for specific meaning of "Su Xi" online.

What abut this little map

We don't use the Chinese Lunar Time in daily life now, so it's hard for me when I trying to use Liu Ren for something. So I made this app for myself to release the work load. I can direcly click the link and see the result in the web page.
